Partner Organizations

We are committed to building vital relationships that strengthen our community through collaboration, advocacy and shared resources. More than 50% of our participating students are from the Wyly outreach partnerships. We design special visual art programs, volunteer opportunities and internships with local organizations. Wyly community grant awards combined with shared funding from each organization when needed make these partnership programs possible.

Town of Basalt

www.basalt.net
Basalt is a quaint mountain community located at the confluence of two gold medal trout streams, the Frying Pan and the Roaring Fork Rivers and is a vibrant and diverse community. Basalt began as a railroad town and was known as Aspen Junction until 1895 when the name was changed to Basalt. This name was taken from the basaltic rock formation of Black Mountain (now known as Basalt Mountain) located to the north of the Town. Basalt was officially incorporated during the summer of 1901. Since that time, the Town has gone through numerous changes and expansions.
In 2004 the Wyly Community Art Center re-located from Woody Creek to the town Basalt choosing to become part of this exciting and growing community by bringing visual arts learning and events to everyone. We are pleased to be able to participate throughout the year in events such as Basalt River Days and the Holiday Tree lighting.
